Rollover crash causes

On Behalf of Kaston & Aberle, LLP | Feb 4, 2024 | Car Accidents, Personal Injury

Automobile accidents happen for many reasons, and the impact may vary. A rollover accident is one type of collision a motorist may experience on New York roads. Such accidents could result in fatalities, so defensive driving skills are vital to avoiding crashes. However, recklessly operating vehicles might not prevent an accident or subsequent injuries.

Rollover accidents

When a vehicle flips over and lands upside down, the incident is known as a rollover accident. The term also applies to vehicles that end up on their side. Such accidents are dangerous since a heavy vehicle’s roof might not be strong enough to support the model’s weight, creating crushing pressure. Even if the roof does not collapse, drivers and passengers may suffer harm when the vehicle flips as they may come in contact with the dashboard, windshield, or roof.

Several factors may contribute to a rollover accident. Not surprisingly, speeding may lead to a rollover accident as drivers could lose control when driving at an unsafe speed. Making a turn at a reckless speed might cause a rollover crash.

Rollover crash risks

Other factors might lead to a rollover crash. Car accidents may occur when a driver attempts to overcorrect, as may be the case when driving in inclement weather. Other issues with the road, including the design, could lead to a rollover crash.

Persons hurt by a driver’s reckless actions, such as speeding or distracting driving, may file a civil suit to recover losses. Drivers have a duty to operate their vehicles safely, and reckless behaviors might indicate negligence. Accident victims may file an insurance liability claim against drivers whose negligence causes them to suffer injuries.
